You live in AZ now ?
Did the truck have an AZ title or did the Texas title you reference pass thru you " open " without you closing it out & having a title issued in your name ?
Whatever the last records show for the truck - that is what a state DMV goes by - if this particular truck is already in the California DMV database there is not much you can do.
Find the last valid title - transfer it into your name - then transfer it to whoever you want.
Some states go by the engine serial number if there is no VIN on the frame or firewall.
You can have a matching VIN plate made & then rivet it where it should have been if one does not exist.
