Chevrolet used a 4-barrel that was approximately 385 CFM on their 265 high-performance V-8. How closely does your 235 compare to the high-performance 265? Compression? Cam? Exhaust?

I did put a Carter 400 CFM on a basically stock 300 CID six with excellent results.

Suggestion: acquire fixed metering jets instead of adjustable ones for your Strombergs (depending on which Stromberg). The Stromberg BXOV is an excellent carb, assuming what you have is correctly sized to your engine.

Or maybe (if the Stromberg is a BXOV-3) use ONE of the Strombergs with the adjustable jet on the 235.

Jon.
