I'm not overly concerned with it being exactly as the truck should have been in 1937 as it is a modified, not original, but does anyone have any ideas what part would work/look best for this application?
I have tried looking at tons of pictures of Chevy Trucks of that era and some have bumper mounted turn signal lights, some attach next to the headlights in holes found there, and yet others just tuck some lights low inside the grille (out of sight unless they are in use) on the left or right...
Your suggestions/ideas/thoughts?
Thanks in advance... | | |

Lots of guys have used fog lamps attached to the bumper for this purpose. You might also put some lights directly on the fenders, too, like they did in the old days, but that would involve drilling holes in your sheetmetal, and the "fender" lights don't look very nice. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 395 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 395 | If there are park lites on the truck you can install sockets for 2 filment bulbs and use that as turn signals..If not look around as sky is the limit...doc | | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 | Hey '37 Chevtruckguy !. Great to see another old chevy guy so close to home. I am currently putting my '40 back together - would love to have a look at your truck sometime. Give me an email - [email protected]. On your turnsignal question, I converted my parking lights on top of fenders to dual filament bulbs. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 1,624 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2005 Posts: 1,624 | Neat trick I did. There a light called "Visibolt." It a LED lamp recessed into the middle of a round or oval (your choice) bumper bracket bolt. I mounted mine using their yellow LED's and can use it as a parking or turn signal light.

I'll have to take a look at some of these options online and then see which I think would be best for the old beast
I see that there are two holes (that look factory) near the mounts for the headlights so that may be the ideal mounting position... Now to find something that will actually fit there and look cool! lol
As always, everyone's help is MUCH appreciated... thanks guys!

I think they look good and neat....but you can use this same bracket/light by drilling a small hole under the headlight bucket and attach it under the headlight. I have seen them done this way and it looks pretty good to plus it can be seen fairly easy. If doing mine again I think I would put them under the headlight. There are several different sizes of these. | | |
