For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 209 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 209 | When I tried to register, I discovered I was here about 8 years ago when I bought my 54 1 1/2 Ton. Now that's sold, (plates were too expensive, overkill for current needs), but yesterday I bought a 51 !/2 Ton. I don't have it home yet, and I'm trying to gather info. Right now the truck has 15" passenger radials on it. I think 16's were OEM. This will be a user truck, not a trailer queen, but I want to keep it as original as I can. Any ideas on what tire size would be better. I plan to run 6 ply rubber, looking for ideas. I'll be back with more questions as this progresses. Also, I'd like to find a picture of the original rear view (tail light, license bracket location) Thanks for any input. We've been waiting on you Welcome back to the 'Bolt. Sounds like a nice plan you have. Something new here is when someone registers, or re-registers it takes 4 post before being able to send PM's and maybe to even post pics..... the 4 post are "moderated" to help keep spammers out and keep this the grrrrreat site it is. See you around the garage forums. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 209 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 209 | Thanks for the replies. Since I found this 51 Wednesday, I've just about wore my computer and this site out. I'd been wanting/needing a P/U for several months. I have an 07 Express for my work truck, but with the shelves and tool boxes in it, when I needed to haul something big, it could be a hassle. My first wheels were a 49 F1, but I sold that years ago. The 54 1 1/2 Ton filled a need, but the needs change. Fortunately, my wife understands me. John | | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 |
