He made me an offer on both that I couldn't resist especially since the chances have gotten pretty good that my project type days are dwindling. So...she's gone. Hopefully to a good place where she'll get the care she needs. I may still lurk around the stovebolt forums though. | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | After being here 7 years don't runaway now!!! Besides, with all that money in your pocket now, you can go buy one that is already running | | | | Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 13 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 13 | I am sorry to hear that Bob. I just started on a truck, and it is nowhere near as cool as the one you had was. Wish I could have seen a finished product. -Greg | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,159 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,159 | My Great Uncle had a 1936 Chevy 2-ton,with a corn-sheller mounted on the chassis.Sheller was powered by a 4-cylinder,(maybe Hercules),engine. He got too ill to operate it,so it sat in his yard for years. It was retired about 1960. I'll have to contact some cousins,to find out what happened to it. It was in too-good condition to scrap??? time to dig... | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,946 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,946 | Even if you could get some pictures of that sheller rig it would be fun to see those. | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,189 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,189 | Willy, That would be a neat truck to see...I took a picture of a 37 Chevy in a junk yard years ago that had a wooden open top tank and a 3-piston sprayer mounted on the rear of the bed. I think it was an orchard sprayer. It's fun to see what was used years ago... Also FYI the first 2-ton Chevrolet truck were made in 1946, the '36 would be a 1-1/2 ton truck from the factory.
