I like both your trucks,already!! did the '66 come stock from the factory as a 4X4? What engine? 292? 283? 327? 396? I believe,all were options in '66. A friend had a '67 3/4-ton with a 292/SM420/4X4,and it was SWEET!! All it needed were some body panels,but didn't need anything but an oil change,mechanically. He used that truck for over 20 years,without having to tear into anything major. AND it did its share of HARD work around the farm,to boot! Iowa Winters,(SALT), finally did its dirty work to the frame,so he finally had to scrap the body. He sold the engine to a guy who has a '72 C-60,and it's still being used! It's due for rings and bearings/valve job. But I'll bet that engine has well over 150,000 miles on it!! Got any pics? | | |
