My Uncle Walter was quite a guy...he raised registered Hereford Bulls for decades back in the 40's and 50's so I decided to honor him with this graphic. The phone number was actually his number in 1945. I called Monterrey Co. Hist. Soc. and they found it for me http://s1276.photobucket.com/user/Dusty411/media/IMG_1204_zps92b6120d.jpg.html | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Dogface, I like the truck and the dog Say, is that painted on or did you get a decal make?? | | | | Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 11 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 11 | The other day I cleaned up the rear end. Today I spent over three hours just scrapping all the old grease away with a flat head screw driver from all the moving parts in the driver side front end of My Grandfathers 3600. After really cleaning things up I greased all the fittings which took some effort. Said and done it was worth it. Im looking for a charger for my digital camera. May have to buy one but as soon as I do I will post some real pics. Way to go! This past weekend I installed a new pin and bushing set in my driver door hinge. I also reupholstered my bench seat with a kit I bought from Raybucks. The seat is assembled and ready to be installed in the cab but I first, need to install some lap belts for the wifey, grandbabies and me! Fan shroud has been missing since I got the truck and I finally found one on eBay.
Today I drove it to work. :-) | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 210 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 210 | I sandblasted then brake and clutch pedals | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,026 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,026 | Just about done with the interior. Still undecided on painting it myself. I'd be doing it in the garage & with the gas hot water heater & furnace nearby, I don't want to blow up the house!

He is definetely a go-to guy with a wealth of knowledge. We live about 10 miles apart. Great guy and gave me a few tips on my current resto project. I then came home and worked on my hybrid T5 swap. Gotta get some shim stock for the speedo relocation. starter shims should work.

You are very fortunate to live near Denny.
Offer to trade him your time-labor on his shop/barn/property for his time with your tougher projects - he probably has two-person jobs that slow him down.
This might get Denny settled faster with his shop/barn duties and get him back to truck projects/posts.

Then I washed it all down with mineral spirits and gave it a good coat of paint. At 61, it pretty much of an ordeal crawling around on your back for the better part of a day but it was rewarding to see it finished. One more thing off the list. Took all the new parts I bought from NAPA to do a complete tune up. Hadn't changed any of these out since buying the truck in '08 & I figured it was time. We installed new points & condenser, rotor, distributor cap, coil & a set of plug wires. Tried to time it but couldn't ever locate the ball on the fly wheel, but when we fired it off it ran very smooth so we figured the timing was pretty close. Didn't want to take time to crawl underneath to remove the cover & clean off the flywheel to find the mark. A project for another day.

I'd love a lift but my garage is a concrete cell under the house that's about the same vintage as my truck whose roof only clears the celling by a couple inches. Best I'll get is a pit. ...which I might just do. Got my fresh air heater done. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8375/8589090789_db4e596d98_b.jpghttp://farm9.staticflickr.com/8392/8589089819_f7295c64a0_b.jpg...but the real accomplishment was getting my truck's blog moved off wordpress and onto another server. It was essentially a crash course in PHP and CSS. I made some minor changes/improvements in the design and UI and it's currently live and functioning. Now all I gotta do is get around to posting the latest updates (heater, horn, new wheels, etc)! Enjoy! www.rustyfiftyone.com | | | | Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 89 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 89 | Nice lookin heater, i just redid mine as well.
