Had the door graphic put on. My Uncle Walter was quite a guy...he raised registered Hereford Bulls for decades back in the 40's and 50's so I decided to honor him with this graphic. The phone number was actually his number in 1945. I called Monterrey Co. Hist. Soc. and they found it for me

The other day I cleaned up the rear end. Today I spent over three hours just scrapping all the old grease away with a flat head screw driver from all the moving parts in the driver side front end of My Grandfathers 3600. After really cleaning things up I greased all the fittings which took some effort. Said and done it was worth it. Im looking for a charger for my digital camera. May have to buy one but as soon as I do I will post some real pics.

I was able to take it for a drive to test out all I done over the winter, calling for snow tomorrow so it will probably be in the garage a couple weeks until the salt is gone off the roads.

I got my 55.2s doors adjusted, radio installed, antenna installed, heater contol valve made and took it on its first shake down cruise and it drove very well. I used the throttle cable to operate the heater valve.

Threw on a new fuel pump and started it up, let it run for a bit to make sure everything was working right and then started taking the front end apart. Got the grill, inner and outer fenders off, engine tranny and cab will have to wait till next weekend.

Hey Jim,
Congrats on winning the plaque! Way to go!

This past weekend I installed a new pin and bushing set in my driver door hinge.
I also reupholstered my bench seat with a kit I bought from Raybucks. The seat is assembled and ready to be installed in the cab but I first, need to install some lap belts for the wifey, grandbabies and me! wink

Well, yesterday I put the repaired radiator, new water pump, and freshly painted OEM Fan shroud in my 1962 C10. Fan shroud has been missing since I got the truck and I finally found one on eBay.

Today I drove it to work. :-)

Just about done with the interior. Still undecided on painting it myself. I'd be doing it in the garage & with the gas hot water heater & furnace nearby, I don't want to blow up the house!

I'm still having some driveline issue's and the only way to diagnose is to drive it.....today I put insurance on it and applied for the antique tag. Should come in a few days and I'll be "on the road again" smile

You will need to have it done for the Tennessee meet.

Saturday, I met Denny Graham, a frequent contributor here on stovebolt, for breakfast. He is definetely a go-to guy with a wealth of knowledge. We live about 10 miles apart. Great guy and gave me a few tips on my current resto project. I then came home and worked on my hybrid T5 swap. Gotta get some shim stock for the speedo relocation. starter shims should work.

Julio,

You are very fortunate to live near Denny.

Offer to trade him your time-labor on his shop/barn/property for his time with your tougher projects - he probably has two-person jobs that slow him down.

This might get Denny settled faster with his shop/barn duties and get him back to truck projects/posts.

Slick, you're not likely to get a response from Woody, he sold his project due to health problems and hasn't been active here for some time

Drove the '50 half ton to the monthly Inliners meeting last Saturday. Took all the new parts I bought from NAPA to do a complete tune up. Hadn't changed any of these out since buying the truck in '08 & I figured it was time. We installed new points & condenser, rotor, distributor cap, coil & a set of plug wires. Tried to time it but couldn't ever locate the ball on the fly wheel, but when we fired it off it ran very smooth so we figured the timing was pretty close. Didn't want to take time to crawl underneath to remove the cover & clean off the flywheel to find the mark. A project for another day.

^ lucky dog. I'd love a lift but my garage is a concrete cell under the house that's about the same vintage as my truck whose roof only clears the celling by a couple inches. Best I'll get is a pit. ...which I might just do.

Got my fresh air heater done.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8392/8589089819_f7295c64a0_b.jpg

...but the real accomplishment was getting my truck's blog moved off wordpress and onto another server. It was essentially a crash course in PHP and CSS. I made some minor changes/improvements in the design and UI and it's currently live and functioning. Now all I gotta do is get around to posting the latest updates (heater, horn, new wheels, etc)!

Enjoy! www.rustyfiftyone.com

BLUEMEANIE,

It will come in handy & well worth the investment($2250 + fuel to get it). Sure beats crawly around on the floor....

I'll post some pictures of the lift, finished putting it together last night & will test run it tonight.

Thanks.

I unloaded my new cab and fenders that just arrived from New Mexico!

I'm ecstatic at the condition and had a great experience with the seller and shipper.

Not quite what we're used to finding in the North East and I got a great deal.

See pics in my blog below.
