I just bought a 1946 1.5 ton this past summer. Going to be a flat bed (Cab and chassis now) with a slight dove tail so I can haul small tractors on it.
A little bit about myself. I am a full time mechanic/engine builder by day and farmer by night. I work for a company called Katech, we specialize in gen IV GM LS engines (specifically Corvette) for road racing (durability). Along with classic vehicles, my brother and I have a collection of 16 or so tractors. John Deere's ranging from 1935 to 1955.

Good lookin' truck, but are you sure that '46 is 1.5T? The fenders sure look those from a 2-ton. If the ID plate is still on her you should be able to verify. Course, it's possible the fenders could have been modified or replaced at some point too but it's worth checking as there are other mechanical differences between the two as well. There's some pretty sharp guys over there that I'm sure can help you. Not everyone visits here often in the Welcome Centre so for best results it helps to post in the most approiate forum.
