I hope you enjoy my new Big Boy Toy..."Max Robinson" He was found on a farm in northern Minnesota last summer on a hunt for old iron. I like these COE's and just had to have it. I had it hauled to San Juan Capistrano CA and hope to install the cab on a later model Dodge Diesel Ram chassis.

That's a cool looking old truck. And it looks fairly solid. Keep us posted on your progress.

Sweeeeet, I think it will be VERY rewarding. Someday I'd like to run up on a good deal with a COE. Keep us posted as you move along.

I sure would like to have your grill... Very nice project you found.
I have been looking for s straight grill for my 1939 COE for a while now. While in your search for parts for your project, if you come across a grill, please keep me in mind...

Hi repguy; Please do, I have been looking now for two years with no luck. Even a parts grill will help. My grill is complete but with the lower 8 bars total ripped beyond repair for chrome. My PH#541-659-8891, Darrell...
I just found the perfect frame for my 39 COE. I just got a 1980 GMC 1 ton Van. It was a big 20' bread truck. Frame rails are same as original 39, cab mounts will sit right on it. Steering box is in same spot as original, but with independent front, with power steering, power disc brakes, 8 bolt hub, same width as original. Everything seems too good to be true. I just got it home last weekend.
I will need to shorten the frame, my truck was a 108" wheelbase tow truck. I will be using my original tow truck box/bed. Airbag the suspension & more...
Finding a frame was a big step forward for me...

What a Darlin'! --- Love those COE's and that one has more character than any I've drooled over so far. Keep the progress reports & pix coming. This is going to be fun to follow.

Hango;
Progress will be slow on this project, but I did find a chassis for it a week ago. At this time I'm cleaning the chassis up. Soon as I get the chassis on 4 wheels, I then can start setting the cab on it. I plan on making the cab tilt forward on hydraulic cylinders. But I have not decided what motor/trans will power the truck? I am thinking about a 6 or 4 cylinder Cummings diesel? They don't come along very often & aren't cheap, so I'm not sure what I will do yet???
Rain started last week & will be here off & on for the next few months now, making progress even slower...
