It's not required that you bring a truck ... we are just curious. Plus, it may help as we set up the new Stovebolt space. I know different folks have talked about it so I'd like to see how it's shaping up. It will probably help with doing the photos, too - after the event.

Thanks,
Peg

Thinking about bringing a 48 3/4 ton barn find that has not been started in probably 15+ years. I'll bring all the stuff to hope fully get it started.
It will give the boys and girls something to do.

The wife's having a family get together that weekend. Is it always the same weekend in September, the weekend after labor day? If so I'll try to block it off in advance for next year.

Okay, updated to here.

Tiny, too bad you can't come for at least ONE of the days. We start Thursday pm. Maybe you can come Thursday and part of Friday morning. We will probably be at the park Friday morning, getting set up. You can at least meet a good portion of the gang!!

Go out for ice for the family thing and come back a day later. I hear there is a shortage with this heat wave. eeeek

Will be driving the '56. Unfortunately, it will have a "for sale" sign in the window. Downsizing the fleet.

God willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be there with my Golden Phantom. I'm gettng giddy already. As I have said, I'll be traveling along I70w (going). I don't expect trouble, but it sure would be nice to know there are bolters along the way I could give a shout out to should the gremlims be lurking.

Ned,

As we get into next week (and we don't have another hurricane), we'll post so we can see who is along your route in case you need any assistance. This will be good to know anyway, as John and some of the other East Coasters are looking to caravan out there - hopefully by the 10th Reunion.

We may get a few takers next year as you will have done the "dry run" already! That would be good. Figure to take a week and make a few stops along the way. I think more of the gang would be able to do that.

Good on ya! You will have a blast. I know you like Homecoming. The Reunion is great.

Yes I did enjoy homecoming a lot. I was lookig forward to Griggs deal too.. but between the heat and other issues, I had to cancel at the last minute.

I am looking forward to the KC trip. I believe the truck is up to the task, so it's time to make take the plunge. After all my talk about building it to travel, it's time to put it to the test.

I've been the route many times in my travels and have been to KC a number of time, but only stopped long enough on one occassion to pick up a relative to drop in Cali. So this will really be my first "visit" to KC.

The trip works out well for me too, because it will allow me to get in a visit to one of my oldest friends Mike. He has a beautiful B&B in Sylvia, Kansas. it's only 3 hrs from KC to his place so it is a sorta rare opportunity to see him.

I'm really feeling jazzed about the whole thing.

Oryx may not make it. i am taking it too the truck doctor at 10:30 this morning. it has front end issues. hoping only alignment but with the pacer front end anything can happen. tires are wearing at alarming rate. Found left lower ball joint very loose, not worn but loose and threads bunged up can't tighten, ordered both sides, won't get them until Tues.

I will try to get out there thursday for a while, just to look and gab a bit.

THe old boy's been getting good use out here, hauled a load of tires a few days ago, but 200 miles on those dried out old Armstrongs is just too much! drive

If you are coming out on Thursday, maybe you can stay long enough to join as much of the group that has arrived at the Alderson's for the picnic.

Tried too drop off parts too finish up, left early 20 min. drive stopped by train then old people diving 20 mph in a 40 zone, missed by 2 min. i am sure they closed early because the boss is on vacation, went at lunch the day before and got there 5 mins. before 12, sign said closed 12-1. i am buying tires and having most of the front end rebuilt and was going too have work done on my car when i get back, maybe not.
