I am 30 years old and I just got my 1966 C10 running. Has a whole lot of work to be done to get it looking good cosmetically, but I drove it for the first time on July 4th, something I have waited to do for over 16 years. I am in the process of fixing a small gas leak, just a busted rubber line directly under the cab, but an easy fix. I will be coming here a lot for the guidance and advice of all of you here. I am looking to keep it completely original, except change the original color to chevy red with a white top and red on the inside. I will post pictures once I get it up here. I know it is a long journey, but I am want to have it back to its original glory, when my great-grandpa bought it new all those years ago, by the time it hits 50. My grandpa took care of it until about 2 years ago and then it just sit in front of his house until we started it on July 4th. I have a lot of work ahead because I am sure it is going to need a full disassemble and plenty of body work, plus I am taking the diamond plate my great-grandpa put in it and replacing it with the old wood bed. Once I get it up here in the city, I will take plenty of pics and show you guys what I am working with. Oh btw, it is an old L6 and I think it is a 235 someone once told me, but the only engine sizes I know of that are that year L6's are 230 and 250. Will figure it out once I see the motor stamp. It's highly unlikely that you have a 235, whoever told you that either replaced it or is simply mistaken. Either post a pic or your engine numbers.
I too, came to this site for assistance and with a lot of help, got my truck back into good working order.
