Didn't know where to post this so sorry if it's in the wrong place. Just wondering why there is no West Coast/Southwest/California listing in the side lot?

I wanted to ask that question for months...the left Coast always seems to get "left" out, except for finding these old gems.

Hey man! We are all for some California representation! Please, anyone who wants to try a GABFest ... that would be a start.

The initial layout for the side lot was existing GABFest sections. We had to get something up there. I am thinking we are may end up with a NW, NE, SW, SE, Central, Canada, International, etc. So, we are open to lots of stuff! If we have those categories, then the GABFests would just be sub-forms under that location.

There are so many in CA ... I sure hope someone steps forward!

....hey Baba, when is the first one smile

I got together with a southern bolter about 5 years ago and yep, we're having our 5th annual the 28th. Sometimes you just have to "just do it".

I live in Idaho. I'd like to see a section for members in the northwest. Probably needs to be started by the site moderator.

Nels -- Nope smile The way the Side Lot works is that you have to meet in person first, THEN we create a Side Lot forum for you wink

The point is to get people together in person. Sometimes, it's too easy just to "meet" in virtual reality. We want you to meet in *real* reality. Otherwise, we could create a whole bunch of forums with little or no discussion going on in them, or even worse, a bunch of discussions that would be just as appropriate in the General Truck or the Greasy Spoon. You pretty much have to demonstrate you have 2 or more 'Bolters meeting at least semi-regularly, then we (i.e., the administrators) will create your side lot forum. We're not being mean, just trying to incentivize folks to meet in person.

Here's more information on how to meet up with fellow Stovebolters in your area.

While we're at it, we might as well remind everyone that this is *not* a club in the traditional sense. This is only a web site. smile

Regards and welcome!
John

So was wondering if this has fallen on deaf ears? I know there are bolters here in the NW that would be willing to get together. I'm one of them that would love to meet more bolters. Ione's 4th of july car show could be a starter or maybe I'll just set a date at my place & see who shows up.

I tried setting one up in California, but we have a big state with people all over the place and I am north of San Francisco. I can hold up to 60 people on the property with plenty of room for the trucks, but few takers. It's expensive to rent rooms in the area for out of towners wanting to visit the wine country, but it's pretty place to be.

I use to live in Rio Vista. Brother in-law lives in Napa. The wine valley is really pretty all year long. I hope something works out for you & other stovebolters to get toghether.

Hey GMONIZ

Give me some time and I will drive up to San Francisco. I believe that would be a nice drive up the PCH.

Make it a little farther and we can have lunch in St Helena. Still trying to get some interest in doing another bbq, but the summer schedule is filling up fast. ......g

Well, We just might have to get together this summer. Little busy june & july with High school rodeo finals but should start slowing down after that. Maybe we can get a few more of these guys to meet up too.... I'd be happy to cook Tri-tip sandwiches for everyone that comes over....

The wife and I will be going through Oregon from Cali. the weekend of the 28-30th. of June. Heading to Forest Grove on a Bonzai road trip.Looking for good eats along the way.
As far as St.Helena goes, give me a call 707-349-5480 and we can meet up any weekend. Trying to get the truck street legal but for now it's a good excuse for a bike ride?
