If so I believe the earlier years are wider and the later years, like my 52 are narrower. Both are the same size but there is a "left" and a "right". New ones are available from vendors for about 15-20 dollars.

The bottom mounting brackets are offset to fit the shape of the door.
Pre-51 will be different from '51 and later due to the vent glass and frameless drop glasses.
Sounds like you may have one of each.
