I am a new Bolter, I live in Washington in the Skagit County and I would like to join or attend a get together for Stove Bolters. Any body planning a get together this fall in this area?

None that I'm aware of - and like you I think it would be a good thing to get one together. Maybe someone will pop in here that knows more. BTW nice truck - I like the look, and it looks like an original NAPCO.

Hi Oldsalt,

Nice NAPCO and +1 on the "none that I am aware of". But, I too would be very interested in a local gathering.

Do you have a copy of the Northwest Automotive Events Calendar? It lists local shows and events. The next show of interest to me is the Monroe Swap Meet Oct 8-9. This group usually has some presence at this show. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/ I also think the BC group is pretty active but have never joined them.

I know where Samish Island is. If you want to sponsor a get together count me in and thanks for posting the question.

I agree with Dave... you are all welcome to come join us for any get togethers we have... a shame you weren't watching Events earlier so you could have caught our annual BBQ...

The next event I am aware of is probably the VCC Old Car and Truck swap meet in Maple Ridge... I think it's at the beginning of October.

We usually all meet up there, pick up whatever parts we need, then head down the road for brunch at a restaurant called Mission Springs which is decorated in vintage autobobilia...

The food is good and this place even has an old chevy truck tucked up in the ceiling! smile

Hope y'all can come up and see us soon! smile

Just a bit of a jump in here. While we were in KC at the Reunion, John and I wondered how long it would be before some in or near California (does the Pacific NW count?) to step up for doing a GABFest.

We will be glad to give the details (they may be somewhere on the site already -- I'm not quite focused yet, sorry). The GABFest doesn't have to be big. The Texas Connection is a small group and has stayed fairly small. The others (like Southern Bolters) keeps growing.

Anyway, that's how these things work. No one pushes anything to happen. "We build it" and "they come!" Less stress!

Let us know (editor@stovebolt.com) if anyone is interested.

Brain is warming up, and I found that link.

I'm thinking about putting a Pacific Northwest gathering together ... started out as taking to a few Oregon guys about doing a meet-up.

Any interest?

Sounds like a good idea. Keep us posted on proposed Dates. Were you thinking of the Portland Area, like the swap meet? It is the same weekend as the Maple Ridge Swap meet. But if one was heavy on the pedal you can do both. Last time I was at the Portland the swap meet it didn't have much for me to buy, but it was fun. I also stayed at the Kennedy School, which I would do again for sure.

Maybe you cascadian bolters should ask for you own spot in the Side Lot? At least then you could more easily get a consensus of bolters from your region.

I have a spot drafted for the PNW but haven't heard back from the fellow who initially asked about organizing it.

We are game. Just need to talk to someone about how this generally works (editor@stovebolt.com) and get it set up in the various spaces on the site.

Another big area not represented is CA.

We are game but proceed slowly. Was thinking last night if we even set up the Side Lots to be N / S / E / W ... and then the subforums (Texas, ODSS, Southerners, PNW, CA, etc.) would be under there.

The idea of something for each state ... is something I just can't figure out.

The BC Canadians have a Side Lot. If the others want to try a GABFest type thing ... again, we are game.

Here's a good blow-by-blow of how the Southern Stovebolters got their GABFests going.

Now that Events has its own link, maybe more traffic will move to these spots.

Someone PM me their phone # and I'll give you a call. I think you would have enough of a group to get one started. I can give all the easy details *easier* over the phone.

Ok, so the post has died...... I thought there was some interest here in the NW. I myself got a little busy with life & blew off getting a get together planned for last year. But this year I'm going to do it. If anyone is interested I'll set a date & place & see who shows up. Also Peggy I will PM you my phone# to gt this rolling......

I think a meeting of 1966 and under GM trucks at XXX in Issaquah Wa would be, real nice sometime this summer.

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.
