Any body planning a get together this fall in this area? http://oldsalts57gmc.shutterfly.com/pictures | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 283 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 283 | None that I'm aware of - and like you I think it would be a good thing to get one together. Maybe someone will pop in here that knows more. BTW nice truck - I like the look, and it looks like an original NAPCO. But, I too would be very interested in a local gathering. Do you have a copy of the Northwest Automotive Events Calendar? It lists local shows and events. The next show of interest to me is the Monroe Swap Meet Oct 8-9. This group usually has some presence at this show. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/ I also think the BC group is pretty active but have never joined them. I know where Samish Island is. If you want to sponsor a get together count me in and thanks for posting the question. | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 864 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 864 | You are more than welcome to come on up to BC to hang out with us BC 'Bolters! | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 7 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 7 | 58gmcnut When do you meet? maybe a few of us US N.Westers will join you.

Watch this space for updates.... | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 460 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 460 | I agree with Dave... you are all welcome to come join us for any get togethers we have... a shame you weren't watching Events earlier so you could have caught our annual BBQ... The next event I am aware of is probably the VCC Old Car and Truck swap meet in Maple Ridge... I think it's at the beginning of October. We usually all meet up there, pick up whatever parts we need, then head down the road for brunch at a restaurant called Mission Springs which is decorated in vintage autobobilia... The food is good and this place even has an old chevy truck tucked up in the ceiling! Hope y'all can come up and see us soon! | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 460 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 460 | See? Told ya so! In any case, do any of you American bolters care to join us? While we were in KC at the Reunion, John and I wondered how long it would be before some in or near California (does the Pacific NW count?) to step up for doing a GABFest. We will be glad to give the details (they may be somewhere on the site already -- I'm not quite focused yet, sorry). The GABFest doesn't have to be big. The Texas Connection is a small group and has stayed fairly small. The others (like Southern Bolters) keeps growing. Anyway, that's how these things work. No one pushes anything to happen. "We build it" and "they come!" Less stress! Let us know (editor@stovebolt.com) if anyone is interested. Brain is warming up, and I found that link. Peg

Keep us posted on proposed Dates. Were you thinking of the Portland Area, like the swap meet? It is the same weekend as the Maple Ridge Swap meet. But if one was heavy on the pedal you can do both. Last time I was at the Portland the swap meet it didn't have much for me to buy, but it was fun. I also stayed at the Kennedy School, which I would do again for sure.

We are game. Just need to talk to someone about how this generally works (editor@stovebolt.com) and get it set up in the various spaces on the site. Another big area not represented is CA. We are game but proceed slowly. Was thinking last night if we even set up the Side Lots to be N / S / E / W ... and then the subforums (Texas, ODSS, Southerners, PNW, CA, etc.) would be under there. The idea of something for each state ... is something I just can't figure out. The BC Canadians have a Side Lot. If the others want to try a GABFest type thing ... again, we are game. Now that Events has its own link, maybe more traffic will move to these spots. Peg
