After sitting for all these years the rubber seals were hard and brittle. So we replaced everything. Tonight I’ll finish the installation and hopefully no more puddles on the garage floor.

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | This past week,i stripped the wallpaper off the hall walls,scraped the popcorn stucco off the dining room ceiling,had my brother skim coat the walls with "mud",put a primer coat on said walls,painted half the hall walls with the color my wife chose,she decides she did not like it,so,cover THAT up with primer.Today,i'm painting the dining room,and waiting for her to choose the color for the hall.What does this have to do with the bolt? Well,when i get it all done,i can go into the garage and play!  LOL! Is that how this thread works? I neglected to describe the diapers I had to change between all my truck work! Perhaps I'll leave those details and photos out...  LOL, you better make sure the words "truck" are in your post or Cletus will come looking for you. LOL

Got the exhaust finished up yesterday and the shop did a real nice job. When I drove it in the garage my son said he couldn't hear it running. Put the hood back on with some help from my son. This weekend I will fine tune the timing and the clutch adjustment and I should be good to go. All this work and all my mother in law can say is "aren't you going to paint it?". Ya, some day, but at least now it will be a very dependable driver even if it still looks a little rough.

Had to make a mandrel to keep the new bushing lined up while being pressed back into pedal arm. Also had to hone out new bushing a little to get a good fit on shaft. Back on the road in the morning though.
The 261 is done, except for a new distributor. And down pipes from the Fentons.

The wiper ran smoothly after wiring it to a battery. Really surprised after removing all the junk.

I got the entire wiring system pulled out of the '49 and took the frontend off in one piece. I forgot how heavy it is as one unit when the rad is still bolted in lol Got it in the garage so now I have to sand it down and clean it up for some satin black paint.
I got a chance to rip apart my '76 motorhome for the chassis swap. 5hrs later and there's nothing left except a cab and chassis and floor..need to rip that up still.
Hopefully get both trucks and my '41 Ford all apart this week.

did the bench bleed/priming and got the MC installed finally...
went to bleed the brakes and the bleeder screw valve on the left rear snapped off.
yep.
couldn't get it out, broke some extractors trying... put new wheel cylinder in...
maybe I can bleed the brakes today.... I hope.
That... or I'm just gonna burn it to the ground.

Also got my first look at the spare tire holder on my 65 C10. It's a chain driven lift. UPDATE..That rotten wood was no match for my hammer. Left a little wood on outside edge. Thought it would be easier when I replace it.

But all runs good
