Hi I replaced the muffler on my 68 k-20 292 engine with a Walker 21169 heavy duty muffler it has a whistling sound under acceleration any ideas of what the problem is?

Drive it around until a black stain shows up then you'll know where your leak is,

What size pipe is it? 292,s need a minimum restriction exhaust system. Some of these mufflers are restictive to make them quite. Or like Durwood says maybe its on backwards.

the pipe size is 2 inch the muffler is marked inlet it is heavy duty replacement for the stock muffler walker 21331.
