Hello all,

This looks like the place to be for information and advice while my dad and I tackle the job of restoring our 1950 Chevy 3100.

This winter the body and frame is staying at my fathers place, and I have the 216 and transmission in mine for restoration.

I have a good bit of mechanical experience both with modern cars and vehicles from the early half of the last century, but relatively little experience with 50's era stuff. It's an exciting project!

Here is the engine as it rolled into my garage, i have since cleaned up the exterior some and removed the headers, starter, and generator. Next up is transmission and mounting it on the engine stand. Any tips/pitfalls to watch for in that process would be appreciated!

Feel free to ask any other questions, thanks for having me.

Welcome midgitman. Kenny gives good advice, some real experts around here, but not necessarily in the welcome centre.

Midgitman, welcome to the Stovebolt. The world center for those who enjoy stovebolts.
My first truck I actually owned was a '50 Bolt. Visit often and stay late. Best truck site on the web.

It looks like [img] tags are disabled on this forum, is that true sitewide, or on a per sub-forum basis?
