old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 3 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 3 | Hello all, This looks like the place to be for information and advice while my dad and I tackle the job of restoring our 1950 Chevy 3100. This winter the body and frame is staying at my fathers place, and I have the 216 and transmission in mine for restoration. I have a good bit of mechanical experience both with modern cars and vehicles from the early half of the last century, but relatively little experience with 50's era stuff. It's an exciting project! Here is the engine as it rolled into my garage, i have since cleaned up the exterior some and removed the headers, starter, and generator. Next up is transmission and mounting it on the engine stand. Any tips/pitfalls to watch for in that process would be appreciated! http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk62/mibusmeatbag/EngineArrivesinRochester.jpgFeel free to ask any other questions, thanks for having me.
