Was wondering if anyone has upgraded to a dual resivor master cyl for saftey reasons.

I have heard of guys adding a second Hydrovac (one for each circuit), but I have no knowledge of how this worked when done. I will prob just go back with the original setup and replace all lines and hoses.

I put it in my 48 1 1/2. I just made an "L" shaped bracket that attached to the original masters location making sure there was enough room for the booster. I then cross braced it to beef it up, mounted the master and made an adjustable pedal rod. Split the front and rear brakes to the master and spent a good long time bleeding and adjusting. Since my truck went to 12 volts, I also plumbed in a pressure switch for the brake lights. This was close to 20 years ago and the truck still has brake pedal! Not sure what significant differences there were between the Art Deco series and the Advanced Designs but I'm hoping for an "easy" fix (ya, right).
Had a mid '60's Furd pickup that wound up with a crumpled fender when a rear wheel cylinder went South. Lucky for me it was barely rolling when it all went away. Swapped it for a dual and swore I'd never challenge that particular demon again. | | |
