I am trying to decode this so I know if this is a 235/261/292 (or even a later 230 or 250). I assume it is a 235, but not for sure.
Can anyone help me?
I went over to the INLINERS website, but was unable to find any match - if it was there I missed it.

I found my casting number on hemmings website that indicates 3836848 is a 235 from 1956 car. So I'm not sure if this engine is original to the 1962 pickup.

You need the number off the block behind the starter to really know what you have, since 235 heads can be put on 261's.

A 292 is one of the later family of engines and has no relationship to a 235 or 261. Just wanted to clear that up for you.
