The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area The Electrical Bay Mounting EZWire fuse box

....since my nephew liked the EZ Wire mini fuse panel I decided to order it for him.
Well, the panel is at his shop and he called me and ask how he was suppose to mount it.
I probably should have went over and looked at it before posting this but figure you guys will know what I'm talking about.
The fuse block has no holes for mounting and from the looks of it he thinks its suppose to slide down in some kind of "plate" that is attached to the firewall.

Did they leave out a piece? or am I missing something. I'll be going down there but not until Tuesday or Wednesday and I want to load my guns, if need be, before I call them. I

I also have a EZ Wiring kit that I hope I will be installing soon. In my kit there is a set of instructions (15 pages) and a firewall template that has 1/4" holes to drill. Also in the kit are 2 bolts and looking at the wiring panel the holes are in the upper left and lower right.

Thanks Warner. I looked at it when it came in but then I haven't opened it has not been opened back up until now. Lester is dang near a 50 mile round trip so I'll wait until I go over there and look at it again. I never took anything out of the box so I'll check it out. Thanks for responding and I'll let you know what I find....or not find!

Alvin, you might look on EZ's site for a picture of the box or a d/l of the instructions. Just a thought!

Les, I did look and I ended up calling them. The "20 mini" fuse block has 4 "slots" on the back of it that you stick a flat blade screw driver through..... and a couple other "tabs" to get it apart. Its cheap cheap cheap.
I called the technician as I did not want to destroy a $182 investment. After we chatted a minute and I got the skinny on it he remarked, and I quote "I hear it everyday". Now ain't that some BS. If they get regular calls about it why not a simple slip of paper or notation on the kit/instructions.
I guess that is TO easy! And as we said before they probably don't care.
I had called and talked to these folks a couple weeks before ordering to ask where the wire was made and assembled. They "assured" me the wire and assembly was in America so I ordered it.

No BIG deal but its a cheap set up that could be fixed so simply.

Sorry for your troubles Alvin. I can imagine how frustrating it would be to have the project 50 miles away and need to make decisions. I should put in a good word for American Auto Wire. Their products that I received in my kit were above par and the service has been excellent.
