Just got to the site. Finally got my grandpa to hand over the keys to his 50 chevy after bugging him for the better part of 15 years. Its now sitting on my side lot ready for me to get after it. Look forward to a lot of good information on this site.

Welcome Dante and congrats on keeping the truck in the family! I hope you enjoy the site and find it helpful as you work on it. Don't hesitate to ask questions and be sure to post in the DITY Gallery.

Regards,
John

Welcome Dante, so did grandpa give you a deal on the old rig? Hopefully, someday your grandson will be bugging you... Be sure to come here if you need anything.

I would say he gave me a real good deal. He just told me to come down with a trailer and get it out of his shop.

He had a quick and dirty restoration done to it in the mid 90s, so its in real good shape. Took me no time to get it to run for a few seconds on its own. Need a fuel pump to get it to run on its own, but won't be long.

You'll make your grandpa proud when you finish it.

Im sure GrandaPa is glad its staying in the family.

Ive already told my son that if he chops our 50 when he gets it, he'll get a "time out"
He's only 3 years now. (It was his grandpa's truck also.)

Post some pictures of the truck when you get a chance.
Being a AZ truck it must be in pretty good shape.

This forum is the best
Good Luck

Here are the few pictures I have right now. The rest are on my camera still.

Straight out of the barn.

After a high pressure wash and ready to head back to AZ.
