Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 341 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 341 | I searched and couldn't find any info on this. Did Chevy make a factory AD rear passenger side fender with the indent for side mounted spare tire?
I found a fender with the indent and it looks factory. I can't find any indication of modifications, welds, etc. and it matches dimensions with my driver side fender.

Thanks for offering to post a picture. A while back, someone posted a photo of a pickup with spare tire carriers on both sides of the bed. It looked real nice (for those of us who like symmetry).

Maybe look on the back side of the fender and tell how they did it. I have a driver side fender and can see how they could do that. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 341 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 341 | Sorry for the delay on the photos. Alvin, if they did cut it out and reverse it like the tech tip they did a heck of a job...I really can't tell. PHOTO1 PHOTO2

Now, I need to figure out the best method of returning the fender to normal/stock. I have a feeling by the time I am done, the fender is going to quite a bit of stretched metal and plastic filler...ugh.
Finally, i will have to fabricate my own under bead carrier. Fortunately, with the illustrations in the factory assembly manual, it shold not to diffilcult | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 341 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 341 |
