My boss has one and thinking of selling it. Blue paint 3 on the tree nice truck that he bought from the original owner. No rust that I can see. I think he said it has a 6 in it althought now sure what came in them for 6's, V6? 292????? Anyway what do you think its worth? He's thinking $4000, I'm thinking too rich for my blood.

It could have a Straight 6 or a V-6. Are there any emblems on the side of the hood?

It's hard to say on the value without more details and/or pictures of it.

If it has the V-6, those are great motors.....not that the I-6 isn't, but those V-6 motors run forever! If it is original, unrestored, and has no rust, that is a fair price, depending on over-all condition.

I got to ride in it a couple of months ago and boy did it bring back time. My first fatherinlaw had a 65 Chevy and we used it for everything. This gmc is complete and clean.

$4,000 sounds very fair for a clean unmolested 65 in Virginia.

Typically if you can find a truck of this era back east you can stick your head through the rust holes in them!

I'm going to try not to buy it and finish my 58 GMC. Just wish I were rich enough to take this away from the boss.

$k for a rustfree 60-66 shortbed is a solid deal all the way around. A big back window would be a bonus, but not a necessity. You ought to try to see what the boss would really let it go for. $4k is a deal, anything less is a steal!

GMC shortbeds are kinda hard to find, least up here in WA state, for the most part GMC's were bought to beat, and finding the parts proves it.

Post some information about contacting him if you are going to pass on it. You'll want to keep it in the Stovebolt family won't you? wink
