I have made some progress on my 1.5 ton.
I have replaced the front and rear axle with hydraulic brakes. The front end is from a 1950 and the rear is from a 1/2 ton 1972 four wheel drive. I used springs that was on it so I suppose it would still be a 1.5 ton, though I'm not sure. I found a GMC 235 with a four speed transmission attached so I have that installed. The local welding shop is working on my drive-shaft, it needed a little work before it would fit. It is surprising how well the parts fit together. The engine and transmission fit right in, without modifying anything. The front and rear motor mounts were spaced perfect. The rear end fit right into place. The rear end set right into place as well. I still need to run the brake and fuel lines, finish the wiring, build a bed and floor board then do the upholstery. I haven't decided what color to paint it yet. It was dark blue, but my family wants me to paint it black.

Looks like your doing a bang up job Bart, making all those part fit. You must feel pretty good about that.

I kinda think I would like blue better too.

From what I've seen on some old trucks still working for thier keep, your bed is fine. I personally would want some steel or aluminum framing around the outside, but hey.. thats just me. Given the pile you drug home, I think you've made outstanding progress.
