I can tell that there are LOTS of great folks on this site that share a great passion for these trucks. I have already learned many things from this site and I have yet to ask a question. I have a 53 Chevy 3100 project, and just last tuesday I brought home a 57 GMC 370, with 59,814 on the odometer! I can't help myself when it comes to those big trucks. I like to have something different, and that they are. I just LOVE 'em Thanks for allowing me to join!

Are you going to keep the 5th wheel? If you do you'll of course have to find a trailer to complete the combo. BTW got any pics of the '53?

However I work at a shop that makes the seating for JD tractors and after showing one of the JD bigwigs my pics and explaining what I wanted to do I was told that without a license agreement I would be hauled into court. He gave me a name and number to someone in the legal dept at JD, but I passed. I've decided to go Fire engine red with black interior and wheels. The grill, headlight trim and bumpers will be white. I will ABSOLUTELY KEEP the 5th wheel! I like having that is different! Next will be a trailer large enough to fit my pop's(66) and my brothers(63) Ford's! I just sold my 53 project to finance the GMC. Tires, and a new seat are the main concerns for now. | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | ...what a PITA. Like your going to hurt their business. They should give you money to paint it and advertise for them.!! | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 | That's a dang shame Oldtime..
People are so wrapped up in litigation these days, and as Alvin mentioned THEY should pay you to advertise!
Good you did the homework though,it's quite probably saved you a bunch of $$$$! Imagine, a second respray and court costs!
Mind you,Fire engine red will be nice..... Glad to hear you're keeping the 5th wheel and putting it to work. 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr.
