I'm going to install a T5 in my 46 (216 bellhousing). I want to pull the torque tube and insert a pumpkin from a newer truck. Now I know that a 55-59 will bolt right up and I can use my original axels, keep the orig. brakes etc. But what about newer trucks, say 60-65. Will any of these work?

Also I think that the 55-59s came stock with a 3.90 rearend. I would like to get something closer to a 3.73 or higher. I want to save my orig. rear axel and just bolt something up. Any suggestions?

I'd call Patricks and see is their sets fit your housing. Stock ratios are really low, so you'll have to step up to the new set of gears. I have a 65 pickup 3:08 under my 46, work's great and it was cheap. That later gear will not fit in your old housing! I'm using my stock bellhousing with an adaptor from Buffalo Ent for the T-5. We had 6 41-46 pickups at this years Lodi Picnic, 5 had gone to the T-5!!!

I believe a 55-62 pumpkin will work.
3.90 was standard, though I think higher
gears could be found in an automatic truck.
