Hello everyone. Yup, just another newbie checking in. wave

I'm a retired guy, who likes his toys. I'm an old drag racer from the 60's and 70's, who raced in So. Cal at many of the famous dragstrips down there, like Lions, the old Irwindale and Ontario, but are now sadly all gone. frown

Anyway, one of my current toys is what I consider a clean 56 Chevy pickup, that I'm using as a cool cruiser/driver. It's kind of a nostalgia thing for me, as I had another one back in the late 60's as a tow car.

I'd like to thank Boyd (CB52)for the invite, you can blame him for my being here. grin

I'm just beginning to look around in here, but it looks interesting so far. A great looking bunch of rides too. thumbs_up

Hope to learn a lot here and be of help when I can. Thanks, Jean

Hey Jeans56, welcome. It's a nostalgia thing for most of us. We had a dragstrip nearby too, I was a spectator only, fond memories, for sure.

Hope you like it here, lots to learn and do.

Gotta love them 56 Chevys!!!

jeans56, welcome to the Stovebolt. Looks like we have a lot in common. Heck, I even met Boyd a couple weeks ago. Got to meet him and Susan while on a "vacation" where Trevor introduced me to a bunch of really great guys.
Lots of info and great guys/gals around here and I'm sure you have a lot to offer yourself. See ya around the garage.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes.

As to the pictures, I'm not sure about posting them. Do I put some in this thread or start a new one, somewhere else? ohwell I just didn't/don't want to get thrown out on my first visit. eeeek

Let me know and I'll put some up, as I'm not really the bashful type. thumbs_up

Thanks again everyone. Mr.Jean

Jean - not likely to get thrown out no matter where you put'em, but maybe put a post in the DITY forum with your story and link the pics there so it'll all get picked up for the gallery

My current shots are all mixed in with my other Garage/toy stuff on Photobucket. So I'll make up a seperate folder for it later and post it up then.

Not sure if they want garage/corvette pictures in here. ohwell So I'll sort them out seperate, just to be safe. thumbs_up

Jean,welcome from Scotland.
Your TF is a stunner! That would brighten up anyones driveway.
You've come to the best sight on the WWW for old Chevy trucks.
We look forward to more pics.
Corvettes and garage pics are fine, just NO F*RDS! grin

Here's a little slide show for now. It's still a work in progress, but it gives you a better idea of what it's got and where it lives. thumbs_up
