Is there a sure fire way to be sure it won't leak after I replace the rubber gasket? Any special sealants? What is the torque spec for the bolts? Thanks. | | |
#66076 09/20/2006 12:50 AM | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 507 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 507 | Make sure that you get the crush resistant gasket, it has small metal sleeves in each bolt hole to prevent over torqueing. Just make sure the lip of the tranny is clean and the pan surface is flat, around the bolt holes is a critical area.

I make sure the gasket area on both the pan and trans are clean and dry. I use a nut driver to tighten the bolts, and make sure the pan is flat around the bolt holes. No sealer. | | |
