hey guys.
OK, here is what I got: 1957 truck dual 1bbl Carter W-1's on a 235cui. Fenton setup.
Everyday on initial start-up, just hit the starter and she turns right over and runs like a top. But, after running her around town for a bit and I get back in to start her, she eventually starts, but she is flooded. Much more revolutions till she kicks over than when she has been sitting for a while. I'm flooding...right? If yes, solution? ohwell

Good carburetion is fuelish hot air
The most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify.

thanks for the tip. That write up was very informative.
So, basically this is just something I have to deal with, and is 'normal'. Still I wish there was another way. Oh well. I'll put up with it. My straight 6 dual carbs are worth it!! thumbs_up

You might have too much fuel pump pressure. Check the pressure & if so put a regulator on it. The heat might be causing the fuel to boil. You might need insulators under the carbs.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

I have been dealing with the same issue with three carburetors, Starts right on cold engine, and after it sets for a hour, its the 15 minutes stops that it won't start. I have tried lowering the floats, but that leans it out where it duns like crap, I have a regulator set to 2 psi fuel pressure, and tried the isolators under each one. Nothing really helps much other then setting them lean. I learn to live with it. Not hitting the throttle helps, but its not the cure. Once started it runs great so I don't worry about it.

Good luck with yours, Joe.
