Actually I knew where it was all the time - resting inside a dark cold Central Minnesota shed. Time to move the folks off the farm and bring the toys home.

This 37's been on 2 Cental Minnesota farms since bought new. The past 20 years or so have been mostly as a running accessory to a collection of Case tractors and associated war era farm implements.

We'll replace the 30 year old tires and replace a bunch of brake parts this spring. The wireing needs attention to clean-up too many temporary repairs made over the years. The 8v battery needs to go.

Thanks to the good reading here over the past year or so I now have a priority list.

Hope the picture posting works

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. At 73, the trucks in great shape although the photos are of it’s best side. The fenders are typical of a farm truck, dented and cracked with a couple straps riveted in place to keep the cracked sections for snagging your overalls. There’s a 2 inch rust hole on the left front fender and a little rust around the windshield and front lower cab corner. The passenger door binds when you close it and it appears to have a skim coat of body filler on it. At some point someone tried to freshen her up with what looks like a rattle can paint job. I think the truck’s condition is a result of a couple things - Not being relegated to sit along side the barn or machine shed instead, it had a parking space inside out of the weather in a well ventilated (read drafty) building and being driven 2 or 3 times a year for the past 20 years.

She needs a little work

According to dad, the brake system required bleeding prior to being driven. That may have been a blessing as the only way clean fluid was maintained. I’m pretty sure new lines, wheel cylinders and a master cylinder rebuild are in order.

The tires are at least 20 years beyond serviceable life. Anyone have a suggestion for a 15” tire size that would fit properly? I’m leaning toward a 225/75. Now if I can find one that looks right without breaking the bank.

And then there’s battery & wiring. The battery today is 8v with a 1/0 pos cable to the starter and one ground strap to a bolt on the trans output. I’ll replace that with a 6v and a new correct sized pos cable. I’ve read there’s supposed to be a ground to frame near the battery and a engine to frame ground. Where does the engine to frame strap go? The wiring has had a few “field repairs” made over the years. Technically they ought to work but it sure looks ugly.

I’ll get a few more pictures and a write-up in the gallery soon.

It looks like a real fun project!
To be honest it doesn't look like the snow actually melted there.
