| | | | Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 554 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 554 | After chiseling out the 58 year old rubber from the wing vents and outside door wiper I am not looking forward to removing the windshield and back window rubber. It is hard as a rock. Laughs at my attempts to cut into it. Anyone have any tricks to deal with this or am I back to hammer and chisel?

I used a bit and cut it right down the middle of the channel. That did it! I was able to break that rubber in the middle and pull it out it fairly good sized chunks. I hope that helps ya out!

So, just sit down in the truck, take a cut sharp knife and cut the "lip" off. Once that is done just push the windshield out because when you cut the lip thats holding it in there the only thing holding it would be some old weatherstrip adhesive applied long ago around the outside of gasket. (what was put between gasket and body) | | |
