This is as far as I got on my Sub before my recent hip surgery and my up coming back surgery. I have it put away in the garage for the winter. I will have 6 weeks recovery and rehab after the back surgery.

Looking great!

I understand intermission. I haven't completely stopped but am down to working an hour at a time with multi-hour rest periods in-between. After I have my surgery I'll be taking a three or four month intermission.

That looks very nice! All the best with your recovery. I think looking forward to resuming work on the truck will be a big driving force.

Weeds, your our hero and the end is in sight. While your recovering I'm sure you will "finish it up" in your mind hundreds of times. Thats what intermission time is for.
Good luck to you on your surgery... and if you can fix up an old Burb like new then just think how you'll be when you heal up. A brand new fellow in a brand new Burb.
Please keep us posted as you recover. Heck, take down our phone numbers and give us a call while your laying up recuperating.
Mine is 864-680-3833.

Cletis, 38TOW, Old Sub, GMONIZ, Truckernix, TrknGMC, Tim L, Alvin and elhippie.. Thanks for all the compliments and support. My surgery is Tuesday and I am actually looking forward to it. The pain is driving me nuts and the fact that I am stuck here in the house just looking at the walls and not being able to get out and work on the sub doesn't help. I will keep you posted on the recovery and progress on the sub.

You are doing a great job on the project. What are the colors you used? I relly like the two tone greens and the interior color. Do you have the paint codes and brand? I may paint mine in similar colors. LOOKS GREAT!! best wishes on your surgery and road to a full recovery. tom [email protected]

I have been home from the hospital for 4 days and am getting around with a walker. Getting sleep and being constipated from the pain meds are the big problem but every day I can feel it getting just a little better. My wife is taking good care of me and she knows that I appreciate her. I go to the doctor on Thursday the 4th for follow up and he will tell me then what I can and cannot do. My sub awaits. Thanks Bolters for the encouragement and prayers. See Ya

Thanks for the update Weeds. Thats great news. So, while your healing up is a good time to do all the "paper work" so you want have to deal with it when your back in the shop!!
Tell your wife we all send out thanks for taking good care of you. Now, be extra thoughtful come birthdays, valentines and Christmas smile
Hope your progress continues but remember, don't rush it!

glad to hear things are looking up. Looking forward to more pictures as you continue work on the Suburban. I'm going to go with the color combination you chose. Imitiation is flattery. ...I like the plane too! I went to school in Stevens Point, WI. WI is a nice State to live. Someday when I drive through WI in my AD Suburban I'll look you up...but before then we expect to see a picture of your two legs sticking out from underneath the Burb and a wrench in hand...when you're ready. Get well and get back to work...eh?! tom

Weeds I had back surgery a year ago in November. Destroyed a disc. They took it out put in a spacer, wrapped it with kavlar, 2 titanium straps and 4 screws. The best thing I ever did. I feel fine now, I know what you mean about being plugged up. Take your time and let it heal. You will feel great in no time. I feel better than I have for a long time. It only gets better from here. The burb will wait. Good luck. Eric

It's good to "hear" from you, Weeds. Do whatever recuperation time and activity that the doctor suggests.

Good luck,
