Why are you replacing the lock? He had all my 4 locks good as new in an hour. (They were BAD) He had boxes and boxes of old locks and all the blank keys you could ever need for any GM till the newest style began. (About 1400 different keys, all numbered) Best of all, he didn't charge for advice and info on anything.

Take all of the locks to the locksmith including the glove box. He can clean them up and re-key them to a new code or if you have a key that you want to keep, he can key them to that one too. Years ago, I took it down to an old locksmith and he showed me how to do it myself, gave me the parts and didn't charge me a dime. I have a locksmith here in town (been there for years). While the "going rate" for working on an old lock appears to be around 20-25 bucks this locksmith fixed and keyed all mine for $7.50 each.... and as someone said, he seemed to enjoy working on the ones he remembered quite well.
