Got some air tools for christmas so was changing the oil in my compressor (champion v-twin portable) and moving it from a somewhat warm basement to a cold non heated shop.The owners manual or company website doesn't give any oil recommendation, I got a iso 32 weight ,but it is a lot more runny than what was drained out.My thinking that it was going to a cold shop so I needed a thin oil.I think I should have got the 68 weight compressor oil now. Can anyone steer me to the better choice? And alot cheaper, too.

Synthetic is a lot more tolerant to moisture than mineral oil. I have 3 or 4 Champions which I consider a premium compressor. I change the oil in all my compressors twice a year. I used to consider myself lucky to get 5 years out of a compressor. I switched to synthetic about 15 years ago and have not had a compressor to fail since.
