Hi, I finally got a truck to work on and drive. It's a 1951 3100 3 window straight off the farm in MO. It still has the original wood in bed, the body's in great shape with original paint but does need a new floor pan. Runs but now brakes, so I guess that's my first project.
Anyway, glad to be here and I'll probably have some questions soon.

Hey welcome, good to have you. I agree that brakes matter and should be high on the priority list. Good luck.

KRP12110: welcome to the bolt. Sounds like you got your self a nice truck. Can hardly wait to see some pics. This is a great site. Ask your questions in the correct forum for the best results.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Congrats - all of the brake parts are easily available. Unless you are going for a museum piece you should upgrade the master cyl to a modern dual reservoir. They don't cost that much but you gain a ton of safety.

I pulled the seat out last night and found the original jack, jack handle and a tire iron. There was also a cresent wrench, an empty can of Warco brake fluid, a homemade pry bar, a steering wheel foam cover still in the package and of course a dead mouse. The glove box is still there but nothing good inside. I'll take some pictures this weekend and post them.
I did get it running but only by pouring gas directly into the card.

Kim - I don't know much about carbs - so when I got mine home I bought a new fuel pump and a reman carb off the internet. It cost about $250 for the pair - but they bolt in in 10 minutes and it runs like new now.

Many Many people would disagree with me, but I've always believed a little money up front pays for a lot of frustration later.
