For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 9 | Hi, I finally got a truck to work on and drive. It's a 1951 3100 3 window straight off the farm in MO. It still has the original wood in bed, the body's in great shape with original paint but does need a new floor pan. Runs but now brakes, so I guess that's my first project. Anyway, glad to be here and I'll probably have some questions soon.

Unless you are going for a museum piece you should upgrade the master cyl to a modern dual reservoir. They don't cost that much but you gain a ton of safety. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 | Congrats - all of the brake parts are easily available. There was also a cresent wrench, an empty can of Warco brake fluid, a homemade pry bar, a steering wheel foam cover still in the package and of course a dead mouse. The glove box is still there but nothing good inside. I'll take some pictures this weekend and post them. I did get it running but only by pouring gas directly into the card. It cost about $250 for the pair - but they bolt in in 10 minutes and it runs like new now.
Many Many people would disagree with me, but I've always believed a little money up front pays for a lot of frustration later. | | |
