Would you reccon to reuse the deflectors (# 13)? The one on the spindle doesn' t fit because of my new tapered roller bearing and it doesn' t make sense to me to use the other one on the hub.

Arent those tack welded to the backing plate?

Id see if you cant make them fit with a little effort. Any grease that escapes the seals would be thrown by centrifigul motion to the braking surface of the pads and drums.

My deflector was between the spindle and the bearing race and not welded to the backing race. I decided to reuse these deflectors. Has anyone an idea how to fit it?

not really any 'fitting' involved - there's a slight shoulder at the back of the spindle, the shield sits on it [hole makes it snug, never seen one welded from the factory], the bearing and the back of the hub sit against it so it can't go anywhere .... not sure how tapered rollers would fit there, but if they sit in the hub the same way should work

The Problem is, when I put the grease seal on the new race (and in the hub), the deflector ist rubbing on the seal. On the old race (roller bearing) the grease seal was lower!
Now I need help...
