Hey guys and gals,

I have a 1961 with a 235 in it and I am gonna pull it for a small block swap. I would like to recoup some of my expenses by selling the motor. It runs very well, burns very little oil (less than a quart per change), and is a very strong motor. It needs to have the top end freshened, lots of valve train noise. Anyways, what should I advertise it for? I am unsure of the value and don't wanna sell myself short.

Thanks,

Kyle

I paid $150 for mine on e-bay. Like anything it is only worth what someone will pay for it.

Put it on craigslist for whatever you think it is worth. Include an honest description. Include a picture. No one pays any attention to ads without pictures nowdays. Or they think you're hiding something. State your location and whether you are willing to ship it, because there are now search engines which can access the whole nationwide craigslist database. If you're in a hurry to sell it, price it accordingly. Good luck.

I have at least 6 in my shed that were free. I know at least one is a good runner.

Also bought a 56 runner with trans for $175 as a spare. Plus it had an 848 head which I may use.
