Hello, I'm new. I just bought a 66 C-60. The previous owner recently put a new master cylinder on, the old one was leaking. He bled and adjusted the brakes. But you have to pump the brakes 3 times to get a good pedal. When you do this you get a good firm pedal and the truck stops good. The previous owner pumped about 2 gallons of brake fluid through the system trying to solve this problem. I have checked his work and find nothing wrong. What do I try now? Thanks

It's possible he didn't properly bench bleed the master cylinder before installing it.

You'll have to bleed out the hydro-vac before bleeding at the wheels. Power bleeding is the only way to go on these hydro trucks,

i just finished my c60 brakes i had a problem like your mine was the vent inside the cab check and make sure its not blocked and you can hear the hydrovac working {a sucking noise when you step on the brakes} double check brake adjustments

Check the brake adjustment first. If memory serves you have an adjuster for each shoe so make sure you adjust both shoes on each wheel. I jack the wheel up and adjust the shoes until they drag slightly.
