That's both sides now, and the passenger side broke when I was trying to install the pin! Got these from a reputable truck parts dealer, with whom I've been satisfied otherwise. Anyone know of a source of GOOD repops, or perhaps be able to tell me that there are good used ones that don't need rechromed, maybe out west? | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | For some NOS I would try giving Obsolete Parts a call down in Ga. Ty has a lot of NOS stuff and it isn't always in his catalog. Other than that your at the mercy of the vendors which do carry them. Give JimCarter a call since he is close to you....maybe put and AD in the Parts Wanted forum and see if a bolter may have a nice set. | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 57 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2005 Posts: 57 | Thanks for the heads up. I suppose I'd better get used to the idea of rechroming a set of originals! | | | | Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2001 Posts: 1,181 | Your post did not say how they broke was it the pin that keep the handle on? If so, one thing you may try is slowly re-drilling the pinway grove for a bigger rod/pin. The original was a small hollow tube when was split down the length. Up grade to a harden material.
If the handle it self broke thet must be something restricting and causing serious drag, it take a bit of pressure to move those things.
