Can I just drill out the old rivots? Also, is heat needed to put on the new ones? Or do I just smash the rivot end with a hammer making sure the end is flush against the leaf? If so...is there special tools needed for this?
Thanks much, ~Ron | | | | Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 230 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 230 | are you talking about the clip straps that rivet to the spring ? if so just grind the old rivet head off at the clip and drive it out with a punch .the new rivet just slid through the clip strap and into the spring ,there should be a recessed area on the top of the leaf ,use a hammer and pound the rivet flush .it's no graded steel . | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 453 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 453 | | | |
