Looking for an aluminum radiator for a 50 3100 with a 383 sb chevy and automatic. May add air later. Any recommendations for quality, fit, manufacturer and part numbers?
Thanks

call Classic Industries 8008541280. They have them for $550 last year. Maybe cheaper now. Better plan on a fan shroud and overflow tank w/180 deg thermostat.

Check the radiators out made by PRC. I bought one last year and it was well made and was a little over $400. Check them out at Rutter's rod shop.

BeCool Radiators Very good product ask any street rodder. Be sure and put a good electric fan with it. The best as far as I am concerned Spal a very good product made in Italy! It has lots of rated CFM's! Biggest in the industry for its size. I also suggest to run a separate Tranny Cooler less hassels on cooling the tranny. Just remembered use a true street Radiator and not a racing type. Get the one inch tube model and if you use a down flow make sure it goes up and down for twice the cooling effect meaning the tubes are inter conected fron top to bottom to exit. This will cost a little extra but worth the extra cash.

Hit your local radiator shop. Preferably one that does race radiators. I got a custom rad made up for about $250 that looks almost the same as the original harrison (except for core). I also got a custom aluminum shroud being made up. I am running a manual, however a bottom tank cooler for your automatic shouldnt be much more.

For street driving, I recommend a bottom tank cooler. For severe towing and racing, a separate cooler is recommended.

If you are looking for an electric fan, ONLY use SPAL or Tri-Pac. everything else are simply sub-par. I do not have any ties to either company, however these are the only fans that actually flow the air they claim base on actual NIST traceable testing.

I have NOT installed mine yet but I bought a new radiator from JimCarter which is a 4 row with bottom tranny cooler. I think it is really a Desert Cooler (they have to get them from someone) and it will bolt right in. With the stovebolt discount and actual shipping charges I think it would save money and do the job unless your dead set to buy an aluminum.
