Have used this same setup before with good results when I did my cab. Anyway, had trouble with the tip constantly clogging. The media was new in the bag and even a second bag did the same thing. It seemed like a piece of it would go at an angle thru the tip and get stuck. I tried the largest tip and still same problem. I run my sandblast cabinet thru a dessicant air dryer first.

The media is too large to fit through the ceramic tip on mine. I have not had time to look for a larger nozzle tip, but I would think one would be available. The media was not damp/wet, it is just as you have said. It gets a large piece jammed and the whole thing backs up. I used 50 LBS of aluminum oxide through it the week prior to the Black Diamond and it worked great, but way too expensive @ $40.00 for 50 LBS. The Black Diamond was $7.95 for 50 LBS. Maybe I got what I paid for?

Good blasting sand is sized and consistent and cost only 3.28 a 50 lb bag here.
Now, I have had the same problem and I agree with 58GMCnut. One day I would blast just fine, the next day it clogged constantly. It has a LOT to do with the moisture. I know mine was not plumbed to be dry enough for blasting so I finally gave up, sold the pressurized blaster!! | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 240 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 240 | I use the Black Diamond often and like the results, but sometimes it gives me fit's. When this starts to happen I will empty the pot out and sift the media thru a large tea strainer and the problem goes away. They have the media in different grits, and the fine is what I use most of the time but the medium grit is the one that gives me the most problem's so usually I just sift it first.
