Will a Carter YF 2100S M87 fit a 1955 235 motor?

John

I am not familiar with the numbers that you have listed, but a Carter YF is a direct drop in to replace a Rochester. I replaced both of mine because I was sick of dealing with the leaks. I did not even have to change the fuel lines.

The original Carter replacement for 1950-59 models with 235 was 966S. Carter later superceeded it with number 2100s. So yes, it will fit.

Just make sure you get the Chevy version. There is a Ford version of the 2100S, but the jetting is about 150-200% richer than one for a Chevrolet.

I know this is an old post, but can anyone tell me where to find one of these YF Carter carbs. I've got a 235 out of a '55 bel air and I want to get rid of the Roch, but I want to stick with just one carb and not spend a fortune. I've read so many bad posts about the single H/W I think I want to stay away from that. This sounds like it would work but where do I find one?

I did see this (sorry, I can't find out how to add a clickable link, please copy and paste this if you wold?): http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Carburetor-United-Carb_3451097-P_26_R%7CGRPCARBAMS_1261785240___
it says its a "united" carb, but it does say its a "YF"
