| | | | Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 4 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 4 | Whats going on ladies and gents, i'm paul from aurora colorado, picked up a 55 chevy 3600 through a co-worker, i mentioned something to a buddy of mine about wanting a old truck and he sent me to talk to this guy, it was his wifes truck they parked it in 85 he said it was a 57(didnt find out it was a 55 till i went to decode the vin) he actually thought all these years it was a ford, it was a "well if you dont take it we're gonna scrap it" I couldnt see old iron get crushed so fri night i went and picked it up, its rough but not to bad its complete and relatively straight, motor turns over. Its at the mother in laws right now as we're in the process of buying a house, i'm itching to dig into it, i have a run on a few cummins mills i'd like to run in it, i have a 13 sec duramax mill in the garage i bought off a buddy but at 1800 ftlbs i'm kinda thinking it'll be to radical for this one, i'm kinda picturing a real clean pro street kinda truck with tons of power. Have learned a ton from this site already and while i'm not a stranger to wrenching i have always dealt with diesels and mid 80-90 chevys so this will be my first old one.
