Hello All. I want to relocate the fuel tank on my 1960 apache fleetside to the rear frame(spare tire location). My question is: Is there any other GM tanks that would work. I don't feel like spending a bunch of cash on a fancy factory fuel cell if I can get one from the auto wrecker. I have heard that one from a Blazer may work years???. Thanks: Ward

i bought one of those kits do it to mine, i returned it because it didn't really fit the 4x4 with a trailer receiver. but those kits are nothing special. i think you could easliy use a blazer tank, just bend and make you own tank straps. when i got mytakn from LMC it didn't even come with instructions. when i returned it i got a brand new in the cab tank with sending unit for 1/2 the price.

The tank from LMC is just a Blazer tank. I mounted one on my 63 K20. I too need a hitch but mine is going to be custom so I can hide it behind the license plate when not towing anything,

You might also look into about a '90 Chevy pick-up tank. It should work if you get the brackets, and would leave your spare tire mount for the tire.
