As info I have the windshield piece but it'll cost more to repair than I can buy it.....but of coarse it would be better to repair as it would be better than the thin/flimsy new japan stuff | | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 513 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 513 | i know for a fact they do reproduce the stainless windshield trim, but i don't believe they reproduce the stainless window trim.
I found my stainless windshield trim in a junkyard about 3 years ago, the man who ran he yard passed this last year, he was probaly 80 ish, and when i came walking up out of his yard with the trim he looked at me and said "where in the heck did you find that, nobody has brought any of that out in 40 years!" i told in the back of an old panel truck. he sold it to me for $10.00 1949 Chevy 3600 Flatbed all orginal 1964 gmc 4000 1973 gmc 6000 2005 chevy duramax 4x4 1994 chevy 1500 Trucks are GM and Tractors are Orange "I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom." - General George S. For the 47-50 they have #751491 R/H, #751492 L/H, at $56.00 each. for the 52-55 1st they have #751493 R/H, #751494 L/H at $46.00 each. They also are carrying door hinges now for 47-55 1st, #751455 L/R Upper and # 751456 L/R Lower at I think he said $64.00 each.

Are you able to to tell from Bitchin's catalog or your phone call if the interior widow trim is stainless steel or chrome? That information does not seem to be in their "on-line" catalog or in the pdf catalog-download.
Thanks, Tim | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 388 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 388 | Hey guys , On the interior trim (1948) around the 2 pc windshield is there such a thing as a connector clip for the center where the 2 pc of trim meet at the v of the windshield just past the defrost openings? Mine must be missing if there is such a thing. Seems u would need top and bottom? Mine is painted not ss.:^( | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 | Yes there are, top and bottom and they are only cosmetic. They don't really serve any other purpose. | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 388 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 388 | Thanx truckernix, know where I might find them? | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 58 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 58 | I would have to call them back, possibly tomorrow. I don't have an answer right now. Dave

My truck is a late 51. 1951 Deluxe Cab This truck has the corner windows and there was a white stripe painted on the beltline. The Chevy dealer painted the top of the cab white over top of the pinstripe, but it is now fading and the stripe can be seen. Anyhow, due to the Korean war, they began deleting the shiny stuff. The knobs on my door cranks were still chrome, but the wiper knob on top of the dash is plastic. The trim on the dash is entirely painted and not stainless. So I expect that is why I have the painted strips around the window openings. I would be interested in finding stainless when I get to that stage. | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 58 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 58 | There are companies that sell the trim strip with the new rubber for the windows available in standard or deluxe versions. The deluxe comes with the beadlock. There are quite a few out there.
